Create a New Driver

How to create a new driver in Pluvo's drivers tab

Step 1: Navigate to the drivers tab.

Step 2: Click ‘New Driver’.

Step 3: Give your new driver a name, and category if necessary.

Step 4: Select the unit of measure you would like this driver to calculate.

If you select "currency" as unit of measure, you will need to specify which currency. To add/remove currencies from this list, visit forecast settings.

Your new driver will appear within the drivers tab, but at this point it will not contain any values. Next, we need to add forecasts.

Forecast on a Driver

Click on your driver to begin adding forecasts.

Click ‘New Forecast’.

Ensure that you select an accurate start date for this Forecast, so that it drives the forecast.

The Forecast type can either be constant, growing, aggregation, or formula. These types all follow the same mathematical logic seen in the metric knowledge articles and beyond.

Manual entry forecasts

You can also create forecasts on drivers by entering values directly into the grid, much like you would in a spreadsheet.

To create a manual entry forecast, simply double-click on a cell, type in the new value, and press enter.

Note that due to time-aggregation methods, manual entry forecasts are only available when the grid is set to monthly view.

If there was already a forecast affecting that cell, pluvo will split the forecast into two new forecasts to ensure that past / future months are preserved. You can view and edit these new forecasts by visiting the driver detail screen for the affected variable.
